Interrogatives- Refers to a particular sentence structure where the verb precedes the subject
E.g. Have you got a light on?
Imperatives- Begins with a verb, direct action in a stronger way, then a request
E.g. Give me a light.
Declarative- Often to make a statement which may be either true or false- untruths within.
Exclamations- Expressing an emotion.
Lexical field- group of words associated with a field of a specific area.
E.g. Lexical field of words to do with the legal profession: judgement, rules, regulations, law, proceeding, justice etc..
Knowing the jargon creates confidence in a person as they know what they are talking about, may seem intimidating to the other person who is listening to it - excluding a group unfamiliar to it.
